Be of Good Cheer...

Rosie and PoPo

"Be of Good Cheer...You have Forever altered the life of a child! Happy Birthday Rosie."  read the card on the roses that were delivered to me today. <big sigh>  It's Rosie's (Claudia's) 3rd birthday today.  I can not believe she's three.  By now, she's walking, talking, laughing at funny words-not just at funny faces...all things she wasn't doing yet when she left our home.  I try to picture what she might look like now, but it's difficult to imagine...or maybe just too hard to let my heart linger there.

I learned a lot about myself and my faith through Rosie and the experiences that came with caring for her.  I learned to love more deeply, accept more graciously, and most of all, be grateful for God's infinite love for me AND for those who seemed to be carelessly doing their job when it came to the safety and well-being of this child that I loved.  I learned that only God knows "the big picture".  What I don't understand, He does.

I hope, with all my heart, that Rosie had the BEST birthday party filled with family, friends, laughter, presents, and happiness.  If it was a not-so-happy day, I pray that she finds and holds onto the love and comfort that she felt while she was our "little".  I know it's there.  And if she can't find it now, she will some day.

My dear sweet husband, remembered this special day by sending me the beautiful roses with the card that deeply touched my heart.  You remember every year, and for that, I can't thank you enough.

Love to ya,
Shell
